Paragould Light Water and Cable currently employs over 132 dedicated employees. These employees make up the one of the largest work forces in the City of Paragould. Paragould Light Water and Cable is an equal opportunity employer.
ELECTRIC:
PLWC's Electric department is made up of 27 employees who are responsible for delivering and maintaining electric service to the citizens of Paragould. The electric construction division oversees the installation of new poles, lines, generators, turbines, and transformers. The electric service crew is responsible for maintaining working electric lines, street lights, and security lights throughout the city. They are also responsible for the installation and maintenance of control and monitoring equipment. The electric department also maintains the on-site Generation Plant which can produce electricity for the city in peak periods of demand.
WATER/SEWER:
PLWC's Water/Sewer department is focused on maintaining a vast system that delivers water to our customers on a daily basis, while at the same time directing the flow of wastewater back to our Wastewater Treatment Plant. The department, and its 23 employees, works very closely with our water testing laboratory and chemists in assuring that our drinking water is of the highest quality possible. The Water/Sewer department is also responsible for the construction of new water and sewer lines and maintenance of existing lines throughout the City of Paragould. This department also maintains the water treatment facility.
WASTEWATER TREATMENT:
PLWC's Wastewater Treatment Plant is a state of the art facility that sits on over 20 acres located in southeastern Paragould. The Wastewater Treatment Plant has an on-site certified microbiological laboratory, a filtration system that filters over 3 million gallons of water per day, and contains 2 reservoir ponds. The Wastewater Treatment Plant is operated by 8 employees.
CABLE:
PLWC's Cable department offers low, competitive rates for Paragould and surrounding areas. The department consists of 12 employees who are responsible for a variety of tasks. The Cable department is in charge of new installs, the activation of existing outlets, running new cable lines to specified locations, monitoring programming, and negotiating channel contracts with companies across the cable industry. PLWC is the only cable company in the City of Paragould, thus making it important that we deliver quality service to every customer.
CABLE STUDIO:
Another service provided by Paragould Light Water and Cable is our Cable Studio department. The Cable Studio develops, films, produces, and airs television commercials for businesses, organizations, and individuals within the City of Paragould. The Cable Studio is staffed with 4 employees who help interested clients through every step involved with the production of a TV commercial. Our Cable Studio has proven to be a great success and is an excellent outlet for local businesses to promote their products or services.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:
PLWC's IT department manages all information systems within PLWC and is responsible for maintaining and delivering our Internet service to our customers. The IT department is made up of 11 employees who have the backgrounds and knowledge to help PLWC succeed in the ever-changing world of technology. The IT department works hand in hand with our engineering department to ensure that we are delivering the best service possible to our customers.
ENGINEERING:
The Engineering Division is responsible for all engineering activities necessary to operate and maintain PLWC. The functional activities of this division include forecasting, system planning, system design, and engineering analysis in support of other divisions. The Engineering Department currently employs 9 employees.
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
PLWC's Customer Service department is second to none. The 19 employees who comprise this department strive to make sure each and everyone of our customers are satisfied with the service they receive from Paragould Light Water and Cable.
